We are a congregation rooted in music

Gomer Congregational Church has deeply rooted musical traditions and embraces music as a part of our foundation. We have multiple choirs that perform throughout the year as well as multiple annual music focused events including the Gymanfa Ganu, Christmas Eve, and others.

Senior Choir

The Senior Choir is directed by Leanne Dunn and they perform 1-2 times monthly during our Sunday service and on special occasions or special services.

Bell Choir

Our Bell Choir was established in the late 1990s. The traditional English handbells used by the choir found a home at Gomer Congregational Church when the Biographical/Historical Salem United Church of Christ in Toledo closed its doors. The Brass bells were donated to the church by Jim and Carolyn Dyke. The choir was directed by Jim Dyke when the ensemble was formed and is now directed by Dian Ridley.

The Bell choir currently has 6 members who practice weekly on Wednesday evenings and play monthly during worship service. The choir welcomes new members. A knowledge of reading music is not required. One only needs to be able to count to learn to play the bells.

Children's Choir

The Children's Choir is directed by Rachel Baker and Melissa Thomas and they perform occasionally during Sunday services, at the conclusion of Vacation Bible School, as well as St. David's Day, Christmas, and other special occasions.
